Baron Foods is proud to announce that its flagship product; the Baron West Indian Hot Sauce has been awarded with the Superior Taste Award this year by leading international culinary chefs from the International Taste and Quality Institute (iTQi), in Belgium, for top quality and taste. The “iTQi Superior Taste Award” is the only stamp of quality in taste granted by food and drink opinion leaders that are Michelin starred Chefs and Sommeliers from all over Europe. Products submitted to the Jury of iTQi are blind tested by a panel of culinary experts according to rigorous sensory analysis procedures. Criteria such as smell, vision, taste, after taste, texture etc. are all taken into account by each Jury member. A company honored with The Superior Taste Award earns the right to market their products using the signature blue and yellow label for up to a period of three (3) years. iTQi affirms that ‘its visibility brings an immediate differentiation amongst the vast choice of marketed products and reassures consumers in their buying decision’.
This year’s acknowledgment by the international culinary experts is yet another corroboration of the superior taste and quality of Baron Foods’ sauces that are recognized by the Grenadian and St. Lucian consumers every day. Out of the 1,250 applications for the Superior Taste award submitted by companies from around the world, Baron Food’s succeeded as the only company in the islands of St. Lucia, Grenada and the wider Caribbean region to rank itself among the world’s most elite brands which have been honored with golden stars for superior taste and quality this year.
Capturing this eminent award has allowed for the Baron brand name to be once again catapulted further into the international market arena. This achievement came as no surprise to the individual who spearheaded the operation, the company’s very own Managing Director, Mr. Ronald Ramjattan. “Baron Foods is a name synonymous with innovation in the processed food industry,” said Ramjattan. “Our foodstuffs have been bringing Caribbean creativity to the rest of the world for decades and the most sophisticated thinking in delivering quality products to markets both regional and global, all of which is attributed to the hard work that is rendered when it comes to attention to detail in formulation and packaging.”An entrepreneur and chemist by profession, with over twenty two (22) years of experience in the agro processing industry, Mr. Ramjattan was very confident about the win for the renowned Baron West Indian Hot. Augmented by his consistent passion for quality, this attainment is yet again another organic product of his company’s quest of maintaining its leading position in the regional and international market place. The accomplishment demonstrates the superior level of quality and service of the facility which is on par with international standards. The company’s sauces, condiments, flavorings, dressings, mayonnaise and spices are manufactured under stringent FSSC 22000 protocols and are well received in Canada, the USA, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Slovakia, Guyana and the entire English, French and Dutch-speaking islands of the Caribbean.
In culmination of the superior taste and quality of selected products from around the globe, iTQi has extended invitations to Baron Foods and companies alike to attend its annual Superior Taste Award Ceremony in Belgium on Thursday June 5th, 2014 at the Concert Noble located in Brussels.
